Mr. Cochran has been involved in all aspects of discovery management and ediscovery services since 1985. Beginning his career as a Staff Assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury, he was quickly promoted and served as a project manager, consultant and executive with top tier discovery management companies. He has managed large intellectual property, product liability, complex financial fraud and environmental cases utilizing state of the art ESI technology and best practices for corporate and law firm clients. Before joining Planet Data, Mr. Cochran was President and co-founder of Cerulean, LLC, a leading international information management company.
Having worked on different litigation practices across the US, EU and Asia, he offers Planet Data clients global experience in discovery management. Mr. Cochran speaks regularly on litigation technology management at conferences around the world. He develops custom plans for corporate clients in the areas of virtual deal rooms, bankruptcy data management, convergence, data mapping, early case assessment and facilities management. He has written articles such as “Betting the House – Virtual Deal Rooms”; “CIOs on Trial: A Check List for eDiscovery and Litigation” as well as taught a CLE certified course on data collection. Mr. Cochran is on the Advisory Council for the Organization of Legal Professionals and a member of EDRM. He is also a past President of the Washington Elementary School PTA in Mt. Lebanon, PA, Member of the Penn State President’s Club, Nittany Lion Club and Lifetime Member of the Penn State Alumni Association. Mr. Cochran has a B.A. in Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University.
